Dawki: Umngot River
One of India's most photographed rivers. The water is so clear that boats appear to float in mid-air. Best visited October to April.
Nohkalikai Falls
India's tallest waterfall at 340 metres. Located in Cherrapunji, it's most dramatic during and just after the monsoon season.
Living Root Bridges
Ancient Khasi bridges grown from tree roots over hundreds of years. The Double Decker Root Bridge at Nongriat requires a 3,500-step trek.
Mawlynnong Village
Declared Asia's cleanest village. A pristine community with bamboo dustbins, flower-lined paths, and a sky walk with views into Bangladesh.
Shillong Peak
The highest point in Meghalaya. On clear days you can see the Brahmaputra plains and the mountains of Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh.
Krang Suri Falls
A turquoise-blue natural pool waterfall in West Jaintia Hills. One of Meghalaya's most beautiful and less-visited spots.

How many days should I plan for a Meghalaya trip?
A minimum of 3 days covers Shillong and Cherrapunji. For Dawki and Mawlynnong, plan 4 to 5 days. A complete Meghalaya circuit needs 6 to 7 days. We recommend not rushing, the beauty is in the journey.
Do I need a permit to visit Meghalaya?
No permit is required for Indian nationals to visit Meghalaya. A valid photo ID is sufficient at checkpoints.
Which vehicle is recommended for a Meghalaya tour?
The Kia Carens or Toyota Innova Crysta is ideal, comfortable for a family or group of 5 to 7, with enough boot space for luggage. For groups of 10 or more, we recommend the Force Urbania.
What is the best time to visit Meghalaya?
October to April is best for Dawki and clear skies. June to September is monsoon, waterfalls are at their most dramatic but Dawki water turns brown. All seasons have their own magic.
